‘Bring to Give’
This artwork represents the idea of trade in Aboriginal culture. Trade between neighbouring tribes and during the coming together of people.
It has symbols of the land and the resources that were used for food, tools, weapons and storage. In the centre of the piece is a trade line, with meeting places dotted along the path, where objects and food could be negotiated and traded.
Within our lands, tools and other objects have been found hundreds of kilometres away from their place of origin. This is due to the large routes and vast zones they were traded over for thousands of years.
